Best Films of 2022: A Video Tribute

Spread the love

CELEBRATING 2022’S BEST MOVIES

This best films of 2022 video is a tribute to all the movies I loved last year. It’s as simple as that. I don’t care if a film earned $5 or $50 million. Arthouse, studio tentpole, animation, and found footage are all fair game. If a movie filled me with joy than it made the list. And I promise you, this list will put a few great films on your radar.

Please keep in mind thus isn’t a countdown that ranks movies from 30 to 1. Instead, think of it as a celebration of the movies that made the biggest impact.

I had a tough time narrowing it down to the films I picked for this video. 2022 was a great year for the movies. It featured its share of incredible blockbusters (Top Gun: Maverick/Avatar: The Way of Water), dazzling international features (Last Film Show, Decision to Leave), and wistful dramas about the past (Babylon, The Fabelmans) — RRR was somehow all three.

Nope (check out the review here) and Everything Everywhere all at Once blew me away. I’ve watched both films many times and they only get better with each viewing. And I can go on all day about the stop motion masterpiece, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (honestly folks, give this movie some love).

On the horror side, we had some real knockouts. Who expected Prey (check out the review here) to be so damn good? I’ve literally had the movie running in the background with the sound off while I write, and if I glance at the screen, it’s game over. I have to sit down and watch a scene or two. But I can’t wrap this post up without mentioning Barbarian. Nothing can match the visceral pleasures of watching that delightfully twisted movie for the first time.

Check out the video and let me know what movies earned a spot on your best of 2022 list.
